SAUER & CRISBARROS COLLECTION

CRIS BARROS & SAUER

Inveterate nomads and collectors of references for the places they visit, the designers Cris Barros and Stephanie Wenk have for some time nurtured the desire to create a four-handed jewelery collection.

In this process, we ended up realizing that most of the objects and jewelry we brought from our travels carried some signature of what each culture thinks about what is feminine, about what is most sacred. – Says Stephanie.

Inspiration

Thus was born the collection in partnership with CRIS BARROS. In exchanges of references on jewelry conquered over travels to places rich in history and ancestral savoir-faire, the designers have discovered the same passion for symbolic pieces of affective memories.

It was a way of honoring this network of women who support us at every moment of our lives and who are as curious about the world as we are – says Cris.

The quartz is carved in the Intaglio Reverse technique. Skilled hands carve designs that are then minutely painted by hand. The combination of the two confers a unique three-dimensionality that intrigues the viewer.
At the end, the crystal receives a mother-of-pearl to protect the paint and incorporate a unique shine.

The face is an allusion to the moon, a symbol of biological rhythms, femininity and the phases of life. Each piece is carved by talented hands, and the pendant receives a shower of diamonds with black rhodium in the griffins, and rubies.
